A birth prep appointment can be a great way to understand your ability to push and any pelvic floor risk factors to be aware of, and strategies to mitigate this risk. What a great gift for an expectant mum! The physiotherapist will take a history, take you through an assessment and push practice on the ultrasound, and write a letter to your medical team with details of these findings. We also briefly cover perineal massage, birth positioning and some top tips for pelvic floor recovery in the early stages postnatally.
